Justin Gillen is an Aerospace Engineer and an ATP rated CFI/MEI/CFI-G Test Pilot, is type rated in the Cessna Citation (CE510S) and the Scaled Composites Proteus. He is currently working as a Senior Flight Test Engineer and Proteus Project Pilot at Scaled Composites in Mojave, CA

He has a varied engineering and flight test background; with design, build, and flight test experience ranging through electric ultralights, Formula- and Sport- class Reno Air Racers, VTOL business jets, rotorcraft to gliders, eVTOL startups, Hybrid Electric aircraft, research flights to the stratosphere, and the world’s largest wingspan aircraft.

He has hands-on design, build, and flight experience on many projects, including the Stratolaunch Carrier Aircraft, and several electrified configurations, eVTOL tilt-rotors and hybrid-electric retrofit designs. He has flight experience in over 70 types including more than 30 experimental aircraft.
